FYI those Firefox containers have little to nothing to do with organizing tabs spatially, it just lets you have different 'profiles' to open tabs in that can all have separate cookies and so lets you be logged into different accounts on the same website for one example/use case.
The license plate itself isn’t the issue. The state want cars to have an easily visible identifier? Sure, whatever makes sense from a perspective of being able to identify a car and its likely driver at the moment when it's actively being used for a crime or for traffic enforcement.
The problem is that this state mandated visible identifier is then used by them to constantly track where you go. So the question is do you have the right to not have the government tracking your movements and keeping logs of everywhere you’ve been for months or years, especially when you’re not currently suspected of any crime?

Your behavior on the internet is certainly tracked by corporations. Your phone's radio addresses were (are) tracked as you walk by things. None of that rises to the level of "stalking" as we commonly refer to it.
It's less the people of the UK have chosen this and more of general apathy towards the state of the world today. The lack of unity and mobilization of the proletariat class to secure our rightful share of the productivity gains of recent decades has left us in a terrible bargaining position, and technology these days is such a huge force multiplier that it feels hopeless to go against governments, and to a lesser extent the huge corporations and elites that influence them (or totally control, according to some). Sometimes I wonder if we've already crossed the point of no return and that they've won and just nobody realizes it yet, and we're doomed to descend into some flavor of corporate dystopian hellhole future.
Yes but dedicating the same amount of time as kids or young adults do to school while also working full-time as an adult is exhausting. I washed out on my first go at college, and going back several years later took me 6 years to finish what was 4 semesters of credits back when I wasnt having to work 40 hours a week AND squeeze in classes when I can at night or early morning.
