That kind of play is pretty rare these days. The current way is to put in portal coordinates (which are pretty much mandatory in NMS social media) and just walk through to the destination. Or have someone take you there from the Anomaly. And while what you did is still possible and cool, would you have still done it if given the chance to take a portal? Would most players? (No.)

I disagree somewhat. It helps to have some kind of exciting, exotic, whimsical, or challenging context to try it out in. Like how they say you learn a technology best with a project. "Just" trying it out can be a flavorless and easily dropped experience. But I agree with the other poster that this is not a great project for learning Emacs as it currently exists.

But you are pretty much guaranteed never to meet anyone while roaming around randomly. Only if you go to a galaxy center, the Anomaly, an expedition, or matchmake into someone else's game (is that still a thing?)

It's pseudoscience no matter what, but I'd like to see the results sliced up for an age range of roughly 35-70. I would heavily question the taste and judgment of those outside that range. Or at the very least note that people's personalities will change significantly when entering/exiting that range.

I'm not that extreme, but I somewhat agree. I just want them to make square handle toothbrushes common again. It's impossible to get a good grip and torque on the newer rounded ones when your hands are wet and toothpasty or waxy from floss.
