I remember it being pretty useful on phone. Now, it can't even "like" a song when I'm driving and I want it to add a song to my Spotify favourites list. It could do a few months ago, now it refuses with "sorry there was a problem with the app".

I've had to resort to asking it to take a screenshot so I can go find the song later. Three quarters of the time it never saves the screenshot though, despite seeing the screen flash out of the corner of my eye.

Gemini is similarly a step back. Google Assistant could hear me speak up and ask it to like or skip a song being played, driving or otherwise. It would quickly beep at me, pause the music/etc, accept input, process, then finish and resume the music (or skip to next track if asked).

Now it takes 10-15 seconds to start after a voice command, won't audibly alert or even stop music to take voice input, and usually fails to hear anything then quit out. Half the time it does that it then pauses the music and quits...

With Tidal Gemini can't do anything using voice commands. Maybe SOTA models can help those on the bleeding edge, but 95% of tech users just want it to work and be cheap enough. Apple figured this out a long time ago but can't help itself with being too clever.

Their very first attempt is arguably the best one there. I was surprised they didn't like it much and kept going. Then the "Stamp / Letterpress Style (Modernised)" was the only other good one.

So of the two designs made, only two were good, the rest was quite bad and lost all meaning.

How does it compare to the others? I started trying to use Zinc but I get lost in all the vocabulary and literature which assumes you already have a background in it.

There's also a neat shm library by that name. Namespace's getting crowded :)

Does this include all the image metadata and who knows what else?

While I haven't tested for that myself, the script should keep pretty much everything including image metadata. I just made a small change so that it also keeps extended attributes in case any image-related metadata is there.

The script currently requires changing one or two folder paths at the top (more details in the script).

This is amazing. I want to build this. Curious about the authors “full garden” link, surely he doesn’t get that many birds in such a small space of time in his garden, unless he lives next to a park I suppose?

I've always thought it a bizarre and unusual "requirement" that swap gets an entire partition. Windows has it as a file too. At least with this approach, if you change the amount of RAM in your computer, you don't need to go resize the swap partition if you want them to match.

That doesn't match my experience at all. I had a Foregjo instance on a Raspberry Pi, and maybe it's typical SD card issues, but the number of times that Forgejo has crashed because it locked its own database and couldn't continue and the number of times repos I mirror from GitHub just mysteriously stop syncing is quite probably the same number of times GitHub has been down this year.

Bruh sorry, stop running any RW services off an SD card, it has always been terrible and unfortunately it will remain terrible, you can buy a used SFF with >5x the compute and a sata ssd for the same price as a raspberry pi alternatively put an nvme hat on it
